The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre (BRIFT) recently announced the election of a new Board of Directors. Stepping in as Chair is Douglas Rill, owner of Century 21 America's Choice in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach. Mr. Rill has over 40 years of experience in the real estate industry and serves on the board of the PBC Film and Television Commission. He holds a BBA from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.

Well-known television news journalist, Bob Nichols, will serve as Vice Chair for The Institute's board. After more than three decades as a local reporter, Mr. Nichols moved into non-profit work. He is the former CEO/Executive Director of Grassy Waters Preserve, and the owner of MediaMasters, LLC, a company which specializes in non-profit management and charity auctions. He is the National Chairman of Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, a national charity headquartered locally and an emcee in the annual Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Attorney James Bearden was also elected to the Board of Directors. He has more than 20 years experience in corporate, communications and entertainment law. Currently, Mr. Bearden is a partner with Bearden, Lewis & Thomas, LLP in Boca Raton. His current practice emphasizes the representation of individuals, corporate and business entities involved in the entertainment and sports industries. He is a graduate of the University of Detroit, where he majored in radio, television and film production. He received his law degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C. Mr. Bearden holds memberships in the Federal Communications Bar and the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association. He is an agent/signatory of the Writers Guild of America, East and West.

In a recent interview, Mr. Rill discussed the need to find a temporary home for the Burt Reynolds Museum. "After almost eleven years anchoring the corner of U.S. Highway One and Indiantown Road, we have to move. The building which currently houses the Museum is scheduled for demolition as part of the Harbourside project. There are no words to adequately express our appreciation to the Town of Jupiter for all their efforts on our behalf. "Thank you" is so inadequate. We are also grateful to the PBC Board of County Commissioners for approving a 1.5 acre site in Burt Reynolds Park for a new Burt Reynolds Institute. However, while funds are being raised and designs are considered, we need a place where Mr. Reynolds' fans can continue to enjoy the vast collection of memorabilia presently on display in the Museum."

Anyone who would like to offer space is asked to call Douglas Rill at 561 252-2726 or email douglasrill@gmail.com.
