Starving Artist Studios, a new performing arts training facility in Central Florida, brings Tony-Award winning composer and lyricist Jason Robert Brown to Orlando for a Concert and Master Class.

About the Master Class
Starving Artist Studios brings Jason Robert Brown to Orlando for a musical theatre master class. On Saturday, February 4, 2012, Jason Robert Brown will work with talented local singers on stage in front of a live audience: Laura Hodos, Juan Cantu, Michelle Knight - local professional performers; Alex Ferguson and Sage Starkey - college-aged performers; Kathryn Kilger and Dana Kruger - high school performers, both students of Trinity Prep. The singers have prepared two pieces: one selection by Jason Robert Brown and one musical theatre selection of their choice. Tickets to observe the master class are $20 and can be purchased on Starving Artist Studios' website beginning December 9, 2011.

Don't miss this rare opportunity to see Jason Robert Brown, LIVE in concert on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 8:00PM. Singer/songwriter Jason Robert Brown shares selections from his vast musical theater songbook.
Fans can expect to hear an array of songs from his award-winning musicals, including; The Last Five Years (Time Magazine's 10 Best of 2001, Drama Desk Award for Best Music and Best Lyrics), Parade (Tony Award for Best Musical Score, Drama Desk and New York Drama Critics' Circle Awards for Best new Musical), and Songs for a New World, which has played Off-Broadway and has been seen in more than 200 productions world-wide.

Jason Robert Brown will be joined onstage by his guitarist from The Caucasian Rhythm Kings, Gary Sieger!

MR. Brown's CD's will be on sale in the lobby, which he will sign after the show.

Tickets are $39 and can be purchased on Starving Artist Studios' website beginning December 9, 2011.

Jason Robert Brown  Jason is the composer and lyricist of the musical, "The Last Five Years," which was cited as one of TimeMagazine's 10 Best of 2001 and won Drama Desk Awards for Best Music and Best Lyrics. Jason won a 1999 Tony Award for his score to "Parade", a musical written with Alfred Uhry and directed by Harold Prince, which premiered at Lincoln Center Theatre in December 1998, and subsequently won both the Drama Desk and New York Drama Critics' Circle Awards for Best New Musical. "Parade" was also presented on a national tour in 2000, which Jason conducted. Jason's first musical, "Songs for a New World," a theatrical song cycle directed by Daisy Prince, played Off-Broadway at the WPA Theatre in the fall of 1995, and has since been seen in more than two hundred productions around the world. Jason's newest musical, "13," written with Dan Elish and directed by Todd Graff, premiered this January to rave reviews at Los Angeles's Mark Taper Forum, and opens on Broadway in the spring of 2008. Jason is the winner of the 2002 Kleban Award for Outstanding Lyrics and the 1996 Gilman & Gonzalez-Falla Foundation Award for Musical Theatre. Jason's songs, including the cabaret standard "Stars and the Moon," have been performed and recorded by Audra McDonald, Betty Buckley, Karen Akers, Renée Fleming, Philip Quast, Jon Hendricks and many others.
